Gun Up, Roll Out

Lets say you are playing speedball or bunker-ball and things are starting to get hectic.

You have one or more guys coming at you, or you are about to push. A newbie player will stay low and put his gun over the bunker and

take some pot shots when players are coming in on him. This never works. You aren't a newbie either, are you?

Get into the habit of keeping your gun to your shoulder when things get hectic. I have seen some

really good players that point theire gun at the ground as they look, then pull it up their shoulder ever time they fire. This is a bad idea

because you have to re-aquire your target each time you bring the gun up. If you get surprised you will really be in a bad way. Especially if two

players are charging you, because they will be shooting as they are running if they are any good. If your gun is up and ready, and your feet are

planted shoulder-width apart, you are more ready to aim and shoot. When playing speedball you should play with you gun up and on one knee.

If two players charge, you can lean out each side of your bunker and get them both. NEVER stand up and try to go head-to-head. If the player has NPPL

experience he might take the hit to get you, especially if you are the last player. The biggest sin in speedball is to play OVER your bunker.

This should NEVER be done early in a game. Play the sides and try to maximize the angles. If you play the tape, then shoot at the opposite

tape once you make you bunker. It helps in speedball to have a player in the back shoot over the tape player's heads.

This way your tape players can concentrate on the other tape, and not the guy that is right in front of him. This is key to avoid being bunkered.
